Unique Memorials

In addition to personalizing the memorial or funeral service, SouthCare offers several unique memorial items that celebrate a life and honor a memory beyond the service.

Diamonds

Diamonds

SouthCare has partnered with several DNA diamond manufacturers that combine carbon, collected by the funeral director prior to cremation and using a laboratory process perfected by General Electric in the 1950s.  The results produce unique and startling diamonds, which are available in several colors, sizes from .25cts to 1.5cts and cut in solitaire, princess and marquee shapes.  DNA created diamonds are often used to create wedding rings, engagement rings, pendants, champion rings and diamond covered wedding vails to name a few.

DNA Preservation

We have also partnered with DNA preservation specialists to profile and store DNA as an invaluable family resource.  DNA is stored by a third-party specialist for 25 years in a lab environment and available for future testing to help answer questions involving identity, social security issues, relationship and paternity concerns or medical decisions after the death of a loved one.

Eternal Reefs

SouthCare is an exclusive provider of Eternal Reefs, which create permanent living legacies that memorialize the loved one.  All or a portion of the loved one's cremated remains are used to create a memorial reef to be permanently placed along the nation's shoreline and assist in the preservation aquatic life.  Family members are invited to assist in the casting of their loved one's memorial reef and may choose to attend the placement ceremony.

Balloon Releases

SouthCare offers memorial balloon launching at the memorial service, funeral or graveside service.  Environmentally friendly balloons are inflated prior to the service and family and friends may script memorial messages with permanent markers.  After the service, the balloons are released by the family and friends to honor the loved one and often symbolic of prayers and memories following them into the sky.

Dove Releases

SouthCare can professionally coordinate the release of white doves following the memorial service, funeral or graveside service.  Doves have long been symbolic of the Spirit and its passing to the next life.  Doves may be released by family members or the dove trainers.  Doves are usually presented in white baskets and released after a memorial ceremony, eulogies, poems or prayers.
